The Lensic Gala was a 200 guest fundraising event held on the stage of the prestigious Lensic Performing Arts Center. The theme was the Orient Express, and the evening included foods inspired by stops along the historic route that started in Paris and ended in present day Turkey.
The Paris inspired Hors d’ouvres were chicken liver pate on toast – and for Vienna, miniature chicken schnitzel with brown butter and capers. Tabbouleh, feta and mint on red endive rounded out the trio for Turkey.
The Paris inspired first course of classic mache salad with toasted hazelnuts, baby beets and hazelnut vinaigrette was finished with a slice of Persille du Chèvre Fermier and French baguette with gold leaf butter.
The second course of Turkish braised lamb shank on saffron rice with golden raisins was finished with pomegranate seeds and chopped parsley. Turkish zucchini and sweet pepper sauté with a dollop of local-made cumin goat milk yoghurt crowned the beautiful presentation.
Vegetarian guests feasted on a wild mushroom goulash with creamy yukon gold potatoes, Turkish zucchini and sweet pepper sauté and cumin goat milk yoghurt.
Guests finished their meal with a luscious slice of Sachertorte topped with whipped cream, along with rose petal laced plates of Turkish Delight and Turkish brewed coffee.
The whirlwind event was the highest grossing for the Lensic Performing Arts Center and Casa Nova Custom Catering was very proud to have helped in that effort!
